an0va is a chiptune musician from Philadelphia who specializes in energetic and technical rock. This Pulsewave, an0va will be performing as a tribute to Queen. aka pretty much the best rock band of all time. I mean, come on.

This month the Pulsewave crew is overjoyed to bring you the musical party stylings of:
A high energy, power packed fusion of electric guitar jams and lo-fi Nintendo console vibes. Currently based in Florida, Melt Channel is the project of Thomas Wilson (with some help from his friends).
CHILLBRAVE is the collaboration project of Kedromelon (Noah Lemen) and PopSTAR (Tate Gregor). Through their combination of their respective superpowers and an absurd amount of Game Boys and Red Bull, CHILLBRAVE creates post-chiptune electro-housestep partycore anthems that will melt your face, eat your cat, and moisten your eyes.
R. A. Navarro aka Rockman is a producer originally from Colombia. Rockman composes on software and hardware both vintage and new, performing his own sounds and recording his own voice for each piece while avoiding a pigeonholed sonic aesthetic.
From right off of the Gulf Coast of Texas, electronic musician, producer and goofy cat dad Alex Luna has been studying the stars to properly predict the area of impact of his next musical performance. What we’ve gathered so far is that Brooklyn is doomed, and the epicenter is going to be our booties. Prepare for I Am Your Destruction.

Paris has been doing visuals since 2006 playing mostly at chip shows. From there he went on to play several Blip Festivals, SxSW, PAX and touring with Anamanaguchi twice, Clubs with DJs such as David Guetta / Avicii / Afrojack /etc, and live AV sets with outpt in the US and Europe. His visuals are inspired by music and mathematics and he uses a variety of tools for live sets including Gameboy Advance, GP2x, Laptops and DIY analog devices.
Because of this month’s 4-act lineup, we will be skipping the open mic portion of the show. Get your tracks ready for one of the coming months!

Having a fascination with highly structured music and baroque culture, Corset Lore writes 8 bit compositions on a Game Boy DMG. As a guitar player, she fancies electric toothbrushes and ebow to guitar plectra most of the time and has collaborated with 8 bit musicians glomag, Natty and POPStar. She has performed at HOPE Number Nine 2012, I/O chip music showcase, Splice NYC, Vector Game Art Festival, the WARPER 7 year anniversary party and in collaboration with glomag at PAX East, Public Assembly and Pulsewave NYC. Compilations include Starscream’s “Future, And It Doesn’t Work + Remixes” record and “Reformat: A Tribute to Bit Shifter’s Information Chase” on 8bitpeoples.

Chromacle is a digital art and music project created by Jake Beadenkopf to explore the plane of the digital aesthetic, creating vast computerized video and audio experiences that dance the border between logical data constructs and ocular corruption. Working under the mantra “Beauty from corruption, destruction from chrominance,” Chromacle’s work deconstructs the digital to its barest form. The product is a glitch-influenced barrage of visual and audiological stimuli that tantalize and torture physiological receptors. http://chromacle.com/

In the year 200x, a teenage boy was reading his monthly Nintendo Power when he stumbled across an article about making music with vintage computer and video game systems. The idea intrigued him so much that he began lurking many websites and forums for more information. The year 20xx came even faster and with his new found knowledge he equipped himself with a Gameboy and a usb cartridge. The boy shortly after evolved into Snesei. Now you can catch him playing in many different environments and throwing hadoukens to the sound of saw waves and cute sounding melodies.
In the year 199x, Nikola was born of two dragons into the age of the SNES. His love of SNES, N64, and Gameboy music would have such a great impact on the child’s life that when he came of age, these feelings of love and nostalgia would fuse and give birth to music that has the power to bring out the child in anyone. From classic video game music to modern pop, his Gameboy knows no bounds, and loves to party on the dance floor.

utilizing each more effectively than the last, he creates luscious soundscapes and rhythms designed to flush out memories past and bring about visions of the future.
The One Electronic is Kansas City native Michael Vallejo. Using a blend of 8bit hardware, vintage synthesizers, ’80s drum machines, vocals, and modern day software, he creates a unique, untraditional style of chiptune. His focus on strong melodies shows a strong emphasis in being happy, optimistic, and upbeat.
ohhinaifu has been making pixel art since 2010. she hopes to blind you with drips, kitties, and cuteness.

ANIMAL STYLE (PA)
Animal Style is an audio visual chip music project by Joey Mariano started around 2001.
Sadnes is an exploration of self and a coming to terms with prior occurences. A blissful mixture of 90’s grunge backed by a Nintendo Entertainment System. His sound will make you wish ripped jeans and messy hair were back in style. It’s time to hate your parents.
DANIMAL CANNON (NY)
Your life will be greatly enhanced once you attend a Danimal Cannon show. He’s like a government stimulus check that gives you ice cream sandwiches made out of guitar solos. Can you really afford to pass that up? Didn’t think so.

Andrew Reitano [Batsly Adams] is an electrical engineer / programmer / visualist based in NY. He creates visuals using a combination of two Sega Genesis consoles and a hand-built video synth circuit. His style involves pushing the limits of the Sega video processor (VDP), utilizing hardware tricks to produce images beyond the expected capability of the system.
We will be having an open mic this month! Come show us what you’ve made/written! Every open mic spot has a 5 minute limit, which includes set-up and tear-down. Open mic sign-ups are first-come, first-serve so get there at door time if you want a spot. Don’t be shy, come out and play!
